Preface

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,

Welcome to the website of the Master of Physics study program at Universitas Gadjah Mada. The Master of Physics Study Program is one of the study programs at the UGM Department of Physics, and is one of the oldest Master of Physics study programs in Indonesia. Until 2021, this study program has graduated more than 700 master’s level postgraduate students.

In carrying out its academic activities, the UGM Master of Physics study program is supported by lecturers who have deep expertise in various branches of Physics from four Field of Expertise Groups (KBK) in the UGM Department of Physics, namely KBK Theoretical and Computational Physics, KBK Functional Material Physics, KBK Applied Physics, and KBK Geosciences.

For student research activities, the Master of Physics study program is supported by four laboratories in the Department of Physics UGM, namely the Basic Physics Laboratory, Atomic and Core Physics Laboratory, Electronic Material Physics Laboratory, and Geophysics Laboratory. We accept prospective students with a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and Physics Education.

The Master of Physics study program also accepts prospective students with undergraduate educational backgrounds from fields close to physics such as Geophysics, Astronomy, Engineering Physics, Instrumentation Electronics and other branches of engineering or science. Most of the graduates of Master of Physics UGM work as educators and researchers in various universities and institutions.
