Two students from the 2024 Odd Semester Cohort of the Master’s Program in Physics, Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada—Rafiqa Wulandani and Rafli Fandu Ramadhani—took part in the Sakura Science Exchange Program held at Mie University, Japan, from 2–4 December 2025. [vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]Wednesday, June 12, 2024 – The Department of Physics at UGM, together with Himpunan Mahasiswa Pascasarjana Fisika (HMPF), once again held a webinar to get to know more about the postgraduate program in Physics. This online event, conducted via Zoom Meeting, was attended by around 60 participants and featured speakers who are experts in their fields.
The event began with a welcome and presentation by Prof. Dr. Eng. Edi Suharyadi, S.Si., M.Eng., as the Head of the Department of Physics, followed by presentations about the study programs by the heads of the master’s and doctoral programs. In this session, participants were given a comprehensive overview of the study programs, including academic information such as curriculum, study plans, research opportunities, the Double-Degree Program (DDP), and scholarship information (specifically for the master’s program).
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]In order to welcome new master and doctoral students for the even 2023/2024 academic year, the Department of Physics in collaboration with the HMPF UGM held a welcome event and Introduction to the Expertise Groups in Physics UGM. This event not only aims to welcome the presence of new students, but also to provide an introduction to the Expertise Groups in Physics UGM to serve as a first step in understanding the flow of the academic journey that will be taken.
This activity was held online through the Zoom meeting application on Thursday, February 1, 2024. Even though it was held online, it did not reduce the enthusiasm and enthusiasm of the participants, organizers, and lecturers in participating in the series of events.

Congratulations on the achievement of 100 UGM Authors in Scopus with the highest H-index. Five of the 100 Authors are UGM Physics Department Lecturers, who are also lecturers in the Physics Master Program.
