Master’s Student of Physics UGM Participates in the 10th International Conference on Materials Technology and Applications (ICMTA 2025) in Kyoto, Japan

A master’s student from the Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) successfully participated in the prestigious international academic event, The 10th International Conference on Materials Technology and Applications (ICMTA 2025), held on October 29–31, 2025, in Kyoto, Japan.

The student representing the master’s program was:

  • Rohma Yuliani (Master of Physics, Class of 2024)

In addition to the master’s student, the conference was also attended by two doctoral students — Eka Wahyuni (Doctor of Physics, Class of 2024) and Nurhidayah (Doctor of Physics, Class of 2023). During the conference, Rohma Yuliani actively presented her research in the field of Material Science and Nanotechnology, which was developed at the Department of Physics UGM. Through her presentation, she had the opportunity to engage in academic discussions and exchange ideas with researchers, scientists, and academicians from various countries on the latest developments in materials and nanotechnology research. read more

Mangroovity 2025: A Real Action by UGM Physics Graduate Students for Environmental Sustainability

Yogyakarta, August 2, 2025 – The Graduate Student Association of Physics, Universitas Gadjah Mada (HMPF UGM), successfully organized Mangroovity 2025 at Baros Beach, Bantul, Yogyakarta. This event was part of the celebration of the 6th Anniversary of HMPF UGM and served as a tangible expression of students’ concern for nature, especially the mangrove ecosystem.

Mangrove Planting at Baros Beach

During the event, participants consisting of Master’s and Doctoral students of Physics UGM carried out mangrove planting in the conservation area of Baros Beach. Mangroves were chosen because of their vital role in maintaining coastal ecosystems, preventing shoreline abrasion, and serving as habitats for a wide variety of marine and terrestrial life. The activity was not only about planting, but also included educational sessions on the importance of mangroves in climate change mitigation and environmental sustainability. read more
