The Master of Physics study programme at Universitas Gadjah Mada was originally named the Master of Physical Science study programme, officially established based on the Decree of the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture, Republic of Indonesia, with Decree no. 580/Dikti/Kep/1993 dated 29 September 1993: 580/Dikti/Kep/1993 dated 29 September 1993, with the name of the study programme as Master of Physical Science. The decree was renewed with the Director General of Higher Education Decree no 153/DIKTI/Kep/2007 dated 21 September 2007, with the same study programme name. With the UGM Chancellor’s Decree Number 526/P/SK/HT/2008, Regarding the Arrangement and Reassignment of Permits for the Implementation of Study Programs at Universitas Gadjah Mada, dated 24 November 2008, the UGM Master of Physical Science study program was renamed to the Master of Physics Study Program.
